SUMMARY:AKRON AREA LOCAL SOAP BOX DERBY RACE SATURDAY JUNE 6\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:We will have three divisions.  Stock\, Superstock\, and Masters. \nInspection and impoundment will be Wednesday June 3 in the blue barn starting at 5:30. You must be in line by 7:30.  Doors will shut at 9pm.  If this date is a problem please notify Craig Flury (330-697-4687) or Vickie Beck at (330-388-8200).  You will be getting your picture taken at this time for your 5X7. \nRain date will be Sunday June 7 time is at race director’s digression. \nPractice runs are unknown at this time. \nSaturday\, June 6 arrive at the bottom of the hill by the bridge by 9am. to check in. Board members please be there by 8am. You will get your racing t shirt then.  A group photo will be taken and then you will go up to the blue barn to get ready to race to crown our 3 new local Champions for 2026.  They will represent Akron in the All- American Soap Box Race.   Racers will get fed lunch. \nBanquet will be held on Thursday\, June 25.  Awards will be presented then. \nThe cost will be $50. This includes T shirt\, prizes\, banquet for racer\, and your picture.  Other banquet tickets will be for sale at the local race. \nYou will receive a registration packet which will need to be returned by Saturday\, May 16.  Send to Vickie Beck\, 305 Sagamore Ave.\, Akron\, OH 44305 If you raced last year your packet will come in the mail.  If you are new\, please contact Vickie Beck about getting a packet.  330-388-8200.

DESCRIPTION:Akron Area Local Sat. June 7 with a rain date of Sun. June 8\, 2025 \nInspection and Impoundment will be Wednesday June 4\, 2025 starting at 5:30 till 7:30.  You must be in line by 7:30.  Thursday\, June 5 is for those who can not make it Wednesday.  Inspections will be held in the blue barn at topside.  There will be 2 trial run days that are not decided yet.  Saturday June 7 racers need to be down at the bridge at 9am to get their t shirts and to check in.  The board of directors need to be there at 8am to get everything set up.  We will take a group picture\, then racers will go up to topside to prepare for race.  Racers will be given lunch.  There will be no pits for families on the black top by the office.  That is where the derby cars will be impounded between heats. You can set up canopies in front of the bleachers or on up the hill. \nYou will need to fill out a registration packet ahead of time.  If you have not received a packet by the 1st of May or have questions please call or text Vickie Beck at 330-388-8200.. \nThe registration fee is $50.00. \nBanquet will be June 24.  Racers go free. Prizes and awards will be given then. \nThe winner of each division will represent Akron Area at the All American Soap  Box Derby  race on July 19.
