SUMMARY:Akron Area Local Race
DESCRIPTION:Akron Area Local Sat. June 7 with a rain date of Sun. June 8\, 2025 \nInspection and Impoundment will be Wednesday June 4\, 2025 starting at 5:30 till 7:30.  You must be in line by 7:30.  Thursday\, June 5 is for those who can not make it Wednesday.  Inspections will be held in the blue barn at topside.  There will be 2 trial run days that are not decided yet.  Saturday June 7 racers need to be down at the bridge at 9am to get their t shirts and to check in.  The board of directors need to be there at 8am to get everything set up.  We will take a group picture\, then racers will go up to topside to prepare for race.  Racers will be given lunch.  There will be no pits for families on the black top by the office.  That is where the derby cars will be impounded between heats. You can set up canopies in front of the bleachers or on up the hill. \nYou will need to fill out a registration packet ahead of time.  If you have not received a packet by the 1st of May or have questions please call or text Vickie Beck at 330-388-8200.. \nThe registration fee is $50.00. \nBanquet will be June 24.  Racers go free. Prizes and awards will be given then. \nThe winner of each division will represent Akron Area at the All American Soap  Box Derby  race on July 19.

SUMMARY:Akron Area Memorial Day Weekend Rally
DESCRIPTION:May 24 & 25 with a raindate of May 26\, 2025 at Derby Downs. \nOne double each day. \nWe will be doing Pre-registration Friday May 23 from 6:30 till 8 pm at the track.  You can turn in registration forms\, get your car number and pay to save on waiting in long lines on Saturday morning.  Saturday and Sunday you will just need to tell us you are there. \nWe will be pitting down in run out by where the rubber bowl use to be.  Awnings\, families\, and your derby cars all be down there.  You can drop your things off down there\, but please move your automobile and trailer as quickly as you can.  No automobiles or trailers will be allowed in that area because of space for other races once the rally starts. \nPre-registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Indoor rally at Summit County Fair Grounds in the Arena.  Rally is Dec. 21 & 22\, 2024  Friday you can turn your car into the arena and set your pit up anytime from 10am till 9pm. Remember the track will be ran down the middle of the building. Friday you can come in the back man door and open the Garage door there to bring in your derby car for set up. Friday evening we will be setting up the starting ramps starting around 5pm.  If you are able to help do this\, we will appreciate it.  Earn a discount in your racing fee if you can help Fri evening or Sunday after the rally to take them down.  WE REALLY NEED HELP AT THESE 2 TIMES. \nSummit County Fairgrounds\, Arena Complex\, 229 East Howe Road\, Tallmadge\, Ohio 44278.  This building is in the center of the Fairgrounds. \nThere will be 2 races each day:  A double and a single each day.  $100.00 for all 4 races or 3 or less races will be $35.00 each. \nRegistration will be from 7am till 8am each morning.   They do not open the doors before 7am Sat and Sunday morning.  Then go to the scales. \nThere will be a Toy Drive Donation for Christmas presents for Children in the Summit County Children Services.  Please if you can\, bring a new unwrapped present for a child.  This date is to late to do Toys for Tots\, so we decided to do the children that are in Children Services.. \nYou may bring your own food for your own consumption\, but there will be concessions open during the day ran by the Fair Grounds \nFor registration text or call Vickie Beck at 330-388-8200.  Prefer text. . \nSanta may even come and join us. \n  \n  \n
